HydrogenPro’s delivery to one of the world’s largest renewable energy storage hubs has arrived in Utah.

PORSGRUNN, NOVEMBER 15, 2023. In September the first shipment to the one of the world’s largest hubs for the storage of renewable energy arrived from HydrogenPro’s plant in Tianjin, China.

The first delivery of 15 electrolyzers arrived in the US. The facility in Utah will feature a 220-megawatt bank of high-pressure alkaline electrolyzers from HydrogenPro. The Advanced Clean Energy Storage Hub is an industry and utility-scale energy project that will produce, store, and delivery green hydrogen. The green hydrogen produced using electrolysis will be stored in two massive salt caverns. Each cavern is approximately the size of the Empire State Building (444 meters) and is capable of storing 150 gigawatt hours (GWh) of energy for dispatch back to the grid when it is needed.

HydrogenPro will complete manufacturing of the electrolyzer systems in 2023. The contract includes a total of 40 electrolyzers and 20 gas-separation skids. The Advanced Clean Energy Storage Hub is schedule to begin operations in 2025.
